You’re about to scroll through a deep collection of guitars, each with its own history and quirks. Every instrument pictured below opens into its story, what makes it special and how it found its way into the family. Take your time and explore; there’s a lot to discover.
What’s with the names?
Woody: Named before the movie or the character. He got the name after the “rock” guitar went back to the store. What would Woody say about wood?
♪♪ Trees dream of becoming me. Can’t blame them.
Franklin: Named for the original owner. Frank was a wonderful person who passed his love of music on to his son, Andy. He would be proud to know that his blues guitar found a good home, and that it will be cherished almost as much as his memory.
Bob and Doug: Bob is the little bass uke that lives on the couch, and Doug is the big Canadian Seagull that fills the whole neighborhood with sound. Naming them after Bob & Doug McKenzie just made sense. One small and friendly, one loud and proudly Canadian. The joke stuck, and now the names feel like they were theirs from the start.
Felix: Came to the family by chance. He was the last to join after Andy had a lucky day. He was adopted on a whim, thanks to money Andy hadn’t counted on, and a desire to come home with something to show for it. Felix is a Latin name meaning “happy, fortunate, lucky, or fruitful,” which fits him perfectly.
